Home coming ritual

Home coming ritual (2008)
1 Female voice, 2 male voices, 1 theremin, synthesiser, laptop, wind chimes.

Produced and Mixed by Victoria Bourne

Info/Program Note:
Written in 2009 in collaboration with the musicians Chris Conway (Theremin, wind chimes, voice) and Jim Tetlow (Virtual synth, voice). It contains electronic and acoustic sounds linked with spoken and sung voice.

Inspired by the idea of the Si Fi novel using text from 'The left hand of darkness' by Le Guin, three individual's perform three separate musical rituals broken up with a collective calling home that grows stronger as the piece progresses, until finally all coming home with a joint chorus at the end. Creating a haunting and other wordly home coming ritual.
